Social network users treat "wedding" apologies in Chechnya as excessive

Forcing residents of Chechnya to apologize for deviating from the wedding customs accepted in the republic violates people's privacy; and repentances to the camera are not a Vainakh tradition, social network users have noting in their comments on the fifth case of apologies for one's behaviour at a wedding party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 24, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that he would not allow violators of local customs to live in Chechnya. The last public apology was made by a young man who burst into tears at his sister's wedding.

The desire of the republic's leadership to protect customs does not justify their interference in internal family matters, social network debaters believe.

"It's time to launch a flash mob in Chechnya entitled 'Find the most original reason to apologize to Kadyrov'," Anton Loktev wrote on the "VKontakte" social network.

Users have shown leniency to the fifth resident of Chechnya, who has apologized for violating wedding customs; they indicate that the young man and his sister grew up without parents and were strongly tied to each other.

Some commentators note the forced nature of apologies and treat them as human rights violations.

However, other users insist that one should apologize for violating Vainakh traditions.
