Criminal.az editor-in-chief gets reaction to his complaint from MIA's chief
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan promised Anar Mamedov, the editor-in-chief of the "Criminal.az" website, to find the people who disseminated false information about the journalist on social networks.
On January 13, Vilayat Eyvazov, Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs, met Anar Mamedov, the editor-in-chief of the "Criminal.az" website, in connection with a journalist's request to investigate the fake news disseminated on social networks about his alleged brutal beating ordered by an oligarch.
"To my surprise, today (on January 13), I has been personally invited by Vilayat Eyvazov, Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs. I've told him about the false information disseminated on social networks about me. I've also told him about the people whom I suspect of involvement in the dissemination of the fake news. I've also mentioned that in recent years, I've been periodically prosecuted for unreasonable claims. I do not exclude that the persons who want to punish me for my posts can be involved in the fake news. In any case, all the above is related to my professional journalistic activities," Anar Mamedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the journalist, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan listened to him attentively.
"Vilayat Eyvazov said that he took the investigation into the case on the fake news dissemination under his personal control," Anar Mamedov said.
