Residents of Chechnya criticize police for posting video with apologies of detainee
The video with apologies of the Grozny resident Alaudin Khangoshvili for the theft was made public in the popular Instagram account "ChP/Chechnya." The police have humiliated Khangoshvili by making public his apologies, social network users believe.
According to the report, the man was detained on suspicion of theft from a local resident of four silver items worth 7500 rubles.
Alaudin Khangoshvili confessed to the crime in front of the camera and said that he was sorry. “I regret it very much, and this will not happen again,” the detainee says in the video.
In their comments on the video, many social network users criticized the police for posting an apology video. “People’s sins are exposed,” wrote, in particular, a user under the nickname sayfulla, whose words were translated into Russian by a correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot".
"No one is against punishing the person who committed the crime. But why should he be dishonored by the whole world? The criminal must be judged by law, and not be forced to humbly ask for forgiveness," Grozny resident Zalina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
