Alu Alkhanov, president of Chechnya, was suggested to pass the power over to Ramzan Kadyrov
Mr. Umar Jabrailov, Chechnya's representative in the Council of Federation, thinks that Alu Alkhanov, president of Chechnya, should resign and pass over his powers to Ramzan Kadyrov, chairman of the government. According to Jabrailov, "the whole Chechen nation is waiting for that, which has been confirmed during the Congress of the Assembly of the Peoples of the Chechen Republic," the "Interfax" reports.
Mr. Senator noted that Ramzan Kadyrov and his government are among the major factors in fighting extremism and aggressive Islamism in North Caucasus.
It is worth noting that Umar Jabrailov's brother Hussein has recently become a vice-premier of the Chechen government, the NEWSru.com informs.
We remind you that on October 31, before the start of the sitting of the Congress of the Assembly of the Peoples of Chechnya, Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov, chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic, stated, when answering the question about Kadyrov's possible nomination to the position of the president of Chechnya: "Why should we nominate Kadyrov for presidency at the Congress? He has long ago become the president of the Chechen Republic in hearts of people. By his deeds, he has himself defined his place."
