Chechen law enforcer equates alcohol consumers with terrorists
The head of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division), who has scolded detainees for drinking alcohol and using psychotropic substances, labelled them as "terrorists." Some social network users have joined the condemnation of detainees.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from October 2019, users of social networks regularly make posts about "preventive conversations" at the district interior divisions of the Chechen police with people detained for drinking alcoholic beverages and using psychotropic substances. On March 1, a new video was posted, in which Rustam Aguev, the head of the Kurchaloi ROVD, was scolding offenders. Local residents treated such law enforcers' actions as inefficient.
While blaming the detainees for using psychotropic substances and alcoholic beverages, Rustam Aguev called them "terrorists." "If you go out while intoxicated, you go out to kill people, you are a terrorist. It's a shame, brothers. Don't you feel sorry for your family members?" the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has translated the words of the head of the Kurchaloi ROVD from the Chechen language.
In the account of Aguev himself, most of the comments were approving. Besides, commentators expressed their condemnation of detainees themselves. "Rustam, you tell them what is inadmissible and, but I am ashamed of their behaviour!" wrote the user edden777.
"I have no words; they look like not young guys already; they look to have tried everything; aren't these nasty things really worth to humiliate themselves like this" Aren't their families more important than their behaviour?" the user idrisovamariah99999 has also condemned the detainees' behaviour in the group Chechnya_life in the Instagram.
