Two residents of Chechnya publicly repent of violating self-isolation

Residents of the Gudermes District have apologized for violating the self-isolation regime; it follows from the video posted on the Instagram. Social network users have criticized law enforcers who gathered some 15 detainees in one room.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 27, Ramzan Kadyrov announced a step-by-step lifting of restrictions in Chechnya, but on April 29, he ordered to tighten control over citizens' movement due to violations of self-isolation regime.

Since April 13, residents of Chechnya are forbidden to leave their homes without special permits.

The above video shows at least 16 men; most of them are without medical masks. Two of the detainees have urged viewers not to repeat their mistakes.

"I regret that I went outside; and I'll not violate it (self-isolation regime) anymore. I also ask you not to violate it," a young man said.

Restrictions in Chechnya have been tightened, local residents said. "Without a permit, it's a problem to go even the nearest store; you can be taken away," said Rosa, a resident of Grozny.

Isa, another Grozny townsman, has complained about the lack of income due to the forced self-isolation. "I haven't been working for six weeks already; how can I feed my family? All the supplies have run out; there is almost no money; we are just on bread with tea," he said.
