Aslan Tkhakushinov has become the head of Adygea
The State Council of Adygea approved the candidature of Aslan Tkhakushinov to the position of the head (president) of the Republic, the RIA "Novosti" reports with a reference to Abrek Chich, press secretary of the president.
The correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" informed earlier that Aslancheriy Tkhakushinov was born on July 12, 1947, in aul Ulyap of the Krasnogvardeiskiy District of Adygea. He is Rector of the Maikop State Technological University. Mr. Tkhakushinov has higher education: he graduated from two Departments of the Adygea State Pedagogical Institute - those of Philology and Physical Training. He is Doctor of Social Sciences and Professor.
The name of Tkhakushinov has been entered into the "WHO IS WHO" International Reference Book of outstanding figures of science, culture and education. In 1998, he was announced the "Man of the Year" by the Cambridge Biographic Centre (England) in the sphere of education, and he was awarded a Diploma and "Science and Art Cavalier" Sign by the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation; he is Deputy Director General of the international Cambridge Biographic Centre for Europe.
We remind you that by the outcomes of the last presidential election, Mr. Tkhakushinov won 2.6% of votes. In the course of the previous electoral campaign, the candidature of Tkhakushinov was initially on the list of nine candidates for the president of Adygea.
A source, who has preferred not to disclose him, thinks that Tkhakushinov is preferable for the federal power, since he is inclined towards the Adygei Diaspora in Krasnodar and loyal to the today's opposition to Mr. Sovmen, standing for unification of Adygea with the Krasnodar Territory.
Vladimir Karataev, chairman of the executive committee of the Union of Slavs of Adygea, told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot": "I don't find Tkhakushinov to be a person capable to address the real problems that Adygea faces. Problem one is a fair resolution of the national problem, that is, the cadre policies and all such things. Problem two is how to combat corruption."
Murat Berzegov, leader of the public movement "Circassian Congress," has an opposite opinion. "Tkhakushinov is known as a man of action who has created the Maikop State Technological University in fact from zero," he told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot." "No doubt, he has huge organizer's talents and is for sure a worthy candidate for the presidency."
