Magomed Daudov: demarcation of border initiated by Dagestan
According to Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, it was the Dagestani side who proposed to define the borders. Magomed Daudov associates the initiative with territorial claims of Dagestan against Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 3, Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, called on the authorities of Dagestan to complete the demarcation of the border so as to prevent a conflict between residents of the two republics.
Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, has claimed that "it was not us who started everything, from the day it was started, six months or a year ago. I say this to ensure that my compatriots understand me ... They came to us with a phrase: 'We would like to work with you.' And we did not come to them. And when the activities had already been started, they realized that our leader would not allow them to say anything and they understood that we were the owners of our land. And they silently closed the issue," said Magomed Daudov on the air on Instagram on June 8 as translated from the Chechen language by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Magomed Daudov did not mention the names of the persons who addressed the Chechen authorities with the proposal to "work" on the definition of the border.
