Daudov volunteers to refute Dagestani journalists' conclusions on disputed lands

In his comment to the article by Dagestani journalists about the disputed land plots on the Dagestani-Chechen border, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, expressed his willingness to prove the incorrectness of the data presented in the article.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 20, the Dagestani edition "Novoye Delo" published an article by Andrei Melamedov and Gadjimurad Sagitov entitled "Inaction of the Dagestan authorities may provoke riots". The authors stated that the republic's leadership wouldn't defend the interests of residents of the Gumbetov District in a dispute with Chechnya over borders.

Magomed Daudov has reacted to the article by inviting the authors to discuss it privately. "What you wrote, or what you were told you is untrue on all points!" his comment to the article states.

The Speaker asserts that "everything was and will be normal" in relations of Chechens with Dagestanis. "Our ancestors have always resolved problems through dialogue, which I have been calling for since 2018," Mr Daudov has stated, adding that he is ready to meet not only the journalists of the "Novoye Delo", but also with bloggers, historians, geographers and politicians, and answer their questions related to the border.
