Azerbaijan claims machine gun and sniper attacks in conflict zone

During the last 24 hours, the positions of Azerbaijani troops stationed in four villages on the border with Armenia and in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled for 50 times, including from machine guns and sniper rifles, the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

According to the MoD, the fire was delivered from the territory of the Berd District of Armenia and from the positions controlled by the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). "The positions of the Azerbaijani Army deployed in the villages of Agdam, Kokhanebi, Asrik Djyrdakhan of the Tovuz District, and in the village of Garaveliler of the Gadabay District came under fire," the website of the Azerbaijani MoD has reported.

Let us remind you that in July there was an escalation of the conflict on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. According to official information, on July 12-27, six soldiers from the Armenian side perished; 38 people were wounded: 35 military servicemen, two policemen and one civilian. The Azerbaijani authorities reported 13 killed persons: 12 were military servicemen and one civilian; four other militaries were wounded.
