Allowances appointed to families of perished Azerbaijani militaries

More than 7000 family members of the military servicemen, who perished during the last autumn aggravation of the Karabakh conflict will receive social benefits, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Labour has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 18, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) published an updated list with the names of the servicemen who perished during the autumn 2020 aggravation of the Karabakh conflict and were buried before that date. It lists 2855 names of casualties, as well as of 50 missing persons.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has assigned social allowances to family members of 2837 shaheeds (martyrs), the "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" cited a the Ministry's message on February 2. More than 7000 people will receive monthly benefits of the President of Azerbaijan in the form of pensions or allowances, says the message.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour reported that families of the warriors recognized as perished can expect to receive one-time insurance payments in the amount of 11,000 manats (about USD 6500). Besides, the martyr's family will receive a monthly allowance of 400 manats (USD 240) and a monthly presidential allowance, the amount of which has been increased by 66 percent since January 1, 2021, and makes 500 manats (USD 300).
