Doctors warn of danger of Kadyrov's order to cancel mask regime
Amid some decrease of coronavirus cases, it is reasonable to cancel the mask mode regime only after a gradual lifting of all other restrictions, Andrei Makashov, a virologist believes. It is difficult to say unequivocally what the reason for the drop of the incidence is; therefore, it is worth observing the sanitary measures as long as possible, Alyona Vilina, a doctor, has noted.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 10, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the abolition of the mandatory wearing of medical masks in public places. Ahead of other regional leaders, Kadyrov is trying to show the Kremlin that the epidemic has been overcome in Chechnya, experts have noted.
The decision to abolish the mandatory mask-wearing regime in Chechnya is unjustified, Andrei Makashov, an employee of the "Biomedical Centre" Research Institution in Saint Petersburg. According to his version, the mask regime will be actual all over the world for a long time, since in crowded places "there will be a high risk of infection."
Alyona Vilina, a doctor, also does not treat an abrupt abolition of the mask regime as correct.
The low mortality rate in Chechnya has to do exclusively with the unprecedentedly tough measures against COVID-19 infection, Andrei Reshetov, a political analyst, believes. He notes that Chechnya wants to be the first, and therefore resorts to such drastic measures as the lifting of the mask regime.
The low mortality rate in Chechnya can also have to do with the active participation of law enforcers in observing the quarantine, Mr Reshetov has noted.
