Bibilov demands to punish those responsible for Djabiev’s death

Today, in his message to the people and parliament, the leader of South Ossetia has declared that those guilty must be punished for the crime against Inal Djabiev.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in August 2020, Inal Djabiev died after being interrogated at a police station in a case on an attempt on the life of the Minister of Internal Affairs. Nikolai Tskhovrebov, who was detained together with Inal Djabiev, also complained about torture. Eight policemen were detained and arrested in a case on the Inal Djabiev’s death, and Andrei Tskhovrebov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, was dismissed.

In his today’s message to the people and parliament, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has declared that the crime against Inal Djabiev must not go unpunished. “Someone’s criminal actions threw a dirty shadow on the police, and the accusations were voiced against the Prosecutor’s Office and the government. Those guilty must not go unpunished. I am sure that investigators will make public their version and the court will make a fair decision with the utmost rigour of the law,” declared the President of South Ossetia as quoted by the “Sputnik-Ossetia”.

Most of the law enforcers are worthy of respect, the leader of South Ossetia notes. “However, apparently, someone decided that, together with a police ID, he received the right to break the law and to dispose of other people’s lives ... The one, on whom the fate of people depends, must firmly know that if he himself breaks the law, he will be brought to liability with the utmost rigour of the law,” the news agency “Res” quotes Anatoly Bibilov as saying.
