400 people are waiting in Dagestan camp to return to Azerbaijan
Every week, citizens of Azerbaijan are taken home from the "Ogonyok" camp located in the Kaitag District of Dagestan, but 400 people are still in the camp, the district administration has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Azerbaijani citizens wishing to return home were accommodated in the "Ogonyok" children's camp in Dagestan after the previous camp near the village of Kullar was disbanded with the onset of cold weather.
Today, there are about 400 Azerbaijani citizens in the "Ogonyok" camp in the Kaitag District. The press service of the district administration has noted that the number of Azerbaijanis is constantly changing, since, on the one hand, they are taken home weekly, and on the other hand, new people go on arriving.
Eldar Osmanov, Deputy Chairman of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Makhachkala Azerbaijanis, in his appeal to his fellow countrymen, asked them not to come to Dagestan until the restrictions on crossing the Russian-Azerbaijani border were lifted. "Dagestan is not ready to accommodate a large number of Azerbaijani citizens," the "Novoe Delo" edition has quoted Mr Osmanov as appealing.
