Four Azerbaijani residents detained for violating travel ban to Karabakh

Policemen detained four residents of the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan, who, despite the ban, tried to get into the non-demined territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers are regularly detaining residents for violating the ban on visiting the territories of Karabakh that had passed over under Azerbaijan's control, where hostilities took place during the last autumn conflict escalation. Thus, on April 12, five residents of the Kelbadjar (the Armenian name is Karvachar) District were detained.

Now, law enforcers have detained four residents of Azerbaijan in the Djebrail District, the APA News Agency reports citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). "Prophylactic talks" were conducted with the detainees; policemen reminded them about the danger of mines and unexploded ordnances.

Earlier, residents of the Terter District did not rule out looting attempts in Nagorno-Karabakh. Also, Khalid Agaliev, an activist of the "Civil Society Platform", has noted that forced migrants are entering the battle zone out of a desire to visit their minor homeland.
