Mother of Dagestani native asks Putin for help in releasing her son

Makhach Bashirov, a native of Dagestan, who was declared a supporter of an extremist organization, was kidnapped by people in camouflage uniforms and masks, his mother asserts in her video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. She insists that her son is innocent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) announced the arrest in the Stavropol Territory of seven residents of Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia and Stavropol Territory, suspected of attempting to blow up a police station. Among the detainees, whom investigators treat as members of At-Takfir wal-Hijra, an extremist religious association banned in Russia, was Makhach Bashirov.

In June, eight alleged members of At-Takfir wal-Hijra were also detained in the Stavropol Territory.

"My son was kidnapped from Dagestan; they are making various accusations against him, although he was at home with his parents ... People in camouflage uniforms kidnapped him and took away to some unknown place," the woman who introduced herself as Lyubov Bashirova said in the video.

In the second video message, she tells the details of her son's kidnapping; at the end she cries and calls on Muslims to publicize this case.
