Azerbaijani sapper wounded by mine explosion

An employee of the Azerbaijani Demining Agency has suffered at an anti-personnel mine explosion in the Karabakh conflict zone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that local residents are regularly wounded and killed by mine explosions in the Karabakh conflict zone. On July 27, a demining expert was blown up by a mine in the Djebrail District. On July 21, two employees of a construction company, working in the territory of the Khodjaly District, which is now under Azerbaijan's control, got blown up by anti-personnel mine.

After Karabakh hostilities, demining of territories may take years, since clearing battlefields from ammunition is a long and cumbersome process, analysts believe.

Farid Aliev, born in 1990, an employee of the Azerbaijani Demining Agency (known as ANAMA), was wounded by an explosion of an anti-personnel mine in the village of Bash Garvend today, the Agdam Regional Prosecutor's Office has informed.

The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has reported that since the end of hostilities – since November 10, 2020, to July 27, 2021, seven militaries and 23 civilians perished in mine explosions in the Karabakh conflict zone, other 91 servicemen and 35 civilians were wounded.
