In two days, activists raise 400,000 roubles for Circassian family from Syria

Circassians from different regions of Russia have responded to the call to raise money to buy a house for a repatriate family from Syria living in Nalchik in distress. In two days, 400,000 roubles were collected, the head of the "Zhyegu" organization has informed.

Ziuar Ayub and Lara Khadjmukhamad, repatriates from Syria, are still living in the "Terek" Sanatorium, where "all things smell of mould," but have no opportunity to move, said the post placed on October 8 in the Telegram channel "Adyghe Khaku-Circassian Channel".

In the evening of the same day, an announcement was posted on this Telegram channel about fundraising Ayub and Khadjmukhamad. "The family has been living in the 'Terek' Sanatorium in appalling conditions for about seven years. It is planned to purchase a house in the countryside for them worth 500,000 roubles," said the announcement.

In two days, the NGO named "Zhyegu" (Heart) managed to raise over 400,000 roubles to buy a house for the repatriate family from Syria, Olga Begret, a co-founder of the NGO, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "One of our fellow countrymen transferred 100,000 roubles; 50,000 roubles were sent from North Ossetia; and help also came from the Circassians (Adygs) living in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory, Karachay-Cherkessia and Adygea," she said.
