Police abandons claims against opponents of QR codes in Sochi

Law enforcers have cancelled the administrative protocol on Vladislav Zhironkin, who was collecting signatures of Sochi residents against the QR code system, the activist himself has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 23, in the city of Adler, law enforcers detained Vladislav Zhironkin, an activist of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), who had been collecting townspeople's signatures against the QR code system, and drew up a protocol on him on violation of the rules for holding public actions.

Vladislav himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on November 26, he received a call from law enforcers that the protocol against him had been annulled, since it was not signed by the boss; and, therefore, no trial would be held.

Law enforcers have admitted that collection of signatures is no offense, and cancelled their protocol drawn up on November 23 under Article 20.2 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses (known as KoAP), Alexander Safronov, a deputy of the Krasnodar City Duma from the CPRF, explained to the "Caucasian Knot".
