Kaspiysk resident perishes in Ukraine

Magomed Velikhanov, a native of Kaspiysk, has perished in the special military operation in Ukraine, the city administration reported on the Instagram.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 26, the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, announced the first death in Ukraine of a native of Dagestan – the officer Nurmagomed Gadjimagomedov, who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. On March 2, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Russian Federation reported that 498 Russian servicemen had perished in the special operation in Ukraine.

Velikhanov became at least the twelfth military serviceman from Dagestan who perished in Ukraine.

Also on March 8, it became known about the death in Ukraine of Musalim Soltanmuradov, a native of the village of Nizhnee Kazanische, Buynaksk District; Magomed Makhachev, a native of the village of Khotoda, Shamil District; and Arab Arabov, a resident of the Tabasaran District.
