Residents of Georgia collect humanitarian aid for Ukraine

Georgia continues gathering help for residents of Ukraine; ordinary citizens, companies and parties are taking part in the campaign. Four containers of humanitarian aid collected by the "Lelo" Party have been sent to Ukraine. Schoolchildren and students who cannot continue their education in Ukraine due to hostilities can go on studying in Georgia, the country's Ministry of Education ha stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 19, Andrei Kasyanov, the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, said that Georgian residents had sent up to 580 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the "Lelo" Party, told about the initiative to invite 100 children from Ukraine to Georgia and provide them with education, accommodation and recreation, but so far the Ukrainian Embassy to Georgia is not ready to ensure the children's arrival.

Parents of 110 children from Ukraine have expressed their desire to send them to schools in Tbilisi and regions, the Georgia's Ministry of Education has informed.

By March 22, about 2000 Georgian citizens had returned from Ukraine, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported.
