Opposition claims 3000 marchers in Yerevan

At the march held in Yerevan, about 3000 people demanded resignation of the Armenian government, the organizers of the march have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 25, oppositionists and their supporters began a march from the town of Idjevan, Tavush Region, to Yerevan, demanding not to review the Nagorno-Karabakh status. In Yerevan, the youth wing of the Republican Party of Armenia tried to stage a protest near the central office of the ruling power "Civil Contract" demanding the resignation of the prime minister. The police detained 11 protesters there. Four other activists were detained after blocking one of the Yerevan avenues.

On April 25, opposition supporters marched through Yerevan demanding the resignation of the government. The march was organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) "Dashnaktsutyun". The marchers called on Yerevan townspeople to join the disobedience actions, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the venue.

According to the organizers, the action was about 3000 strong. In their turn, the police assert that there were about 1000 marchers.
