Azerbaijan: journalist Fatullaev accused of terrorism

Officers of the Ministry for National Security (MNS) made a search of the offices of newspapers "Gyundelik Azerbaijan" and "Real Azerbaijan." The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the house of Einullah Fatullaev, editor-in-chief of newspapers "Gyundelik Azerbaijan" and "Real Azerbaijan," was also searched.

The statement of the MNS runs that the Chief Investigatory Department of the Ministry has initiated a criminal case on the fact of a threat of terrorism under Article 214 of the Criminal Code. Other searches are being held under this criminal case.

Earlier, mother of Einullah Fatullaev, who was sentenced to 30 months of imprisonment, had stated that anonymous persons were calling her up home demanding to stop the publication of the newspapers "Real Azerbaijan" and "Gyundelik Azerbaijan." Otherwise, they threatened to kill Einullah Fatullaev in prison.
