UN reacts to application of cheated shareholders in Stavropol

A response has come to the photo-report on the situation of cheated shareholders in Stavropol, sent to Cezare Ottolini, president of "International Alliance of Residents" and representative of UN-Habitat. This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Vladimir Prikhodkin, leader of shareholders' initiative group at ООО "Spas-XXI".

Cezare Ottolini's representative in Moscow responds on his behalf that that it may be possible to try and "cancel the UN-Habitat diplomas of the mayors who do not deserve them. According to him, the award of such diplomas is a result of insufficient objective information on the situation in Russian towns. This can only be done upon a careful study of the situation," cites V.Prikhotkin the letter.

He notes that, last year, the Stavropol mayor was granted a UN-Habitat Diploma "for the creation of a healthy and comfortable human environment in the town," in which Stavropol is recognized as a town "comfortable for living."

The cheated shareholders' organization has also handed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent a report which, in particular, runs: "In February (on the eve of March elections!), during the press-conference with А.Е.Khinstain, Governor А.L.Chernogorov together with acting vice-governor А.Voropayev, publicly promised to work out an action plan to resolve the situation on each site by April 22. It is end of June now, there is NO such plan and people are in despair."
