Organizer of assassination attempt on Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov tried in Germany
The Higher Land Court of Munich has begun considering the case of organizing an ordered killing of Mokhmad, a brother of the Chechen oppositional blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov. The main figurant in the case is Valid D., a native of Chechnya, who had acted, according to the German Prosecutor's Office, under instructions of Chechen law enforcers.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 8, 2021, Tumso Abdurakhmanov announced the intended but failed assassination of his brother in Germany. The organizers of the planned murder of Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov did not think over the possibility for the hired killer to escape from Germany after committing the crime; they did not care about his further fate, Tumso then stated. According to his version, Tamerlan Aurbiev, a native of Chechnya, refused to kill Mokhmad and disclosed the name of the mediator. Aurbiev's family was evacuated from Chechnya; and he was taken under protection by German law enforcers.
According to investigators, another Chechen named Tamerlan was supposed to be the perpetrator, but he told Tumso himself about the assassination attempt. Now, Tamerlan is the main witness in the case. Besides, another person figures in the case – an employee of the department for the protection of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany of the Federal Land Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, who transmitted information about the whereabouts of Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov to Valid D.
Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov is a native of Grozny. He left Russia in 2015 due to the threat of physical execution. First he went to Georgia, but was denied asylum there. In March 2017, Mokhmad flew to Germany, whose authorities had twice denied him political asylum. Now, Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov is an official representative of the "Vayfond" charitable and human rights association in Germany.
