Resident of Dagestan sentenced for helping terrorism
The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has found Medjid Aliev, a resident of Dagestan, guilty of helping the activities of the "Islamic State" (IS)* and sentenced him to 16 years in a high security colony.
Medjid Aliev was accused of financing of terrorism, the "Interfax" has reported with reference to the press service of the Southern District Military Court.
As the court has found, acting via the Internet, Aliev persuaded another person to give him the details of his bank card and allow making transactions from this account, in order to transfer money later for terrorists' needs. Then, Aliev posted in his page in one of social networks an appeal to raise funds to the bank details he published, and thus collected money, the TASS reports.
