KChR is last in local road quality rating among NCFD regions

In the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), roads of local and regional importance are recognized as the poorest in quality in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).

All the Russian motor roads are divided into three types – of federal, regional (inter-municipal) and local importance. In the overwhelming majority of Russian regions, more than 90% of all general use roads are of regional and local importance, the agency named "Rating" informs.

In the KChR, less than 40% of regional, inter-municipal and local roads meet the regulatory requirements, as it follows from the study conducted by the above "Rating" agency, the results of which were published on July 4 by the RIA "Novosti".

In North Ossetia and Chechnya, only 45% of roads are of due quality; in Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol, more than half of the roads comply with the standards.

Two NCFD regions keep their roads in greater compliance with the standards – Dagestan has 70% of comparatively good local and regional roads, and Ingushetia – more than 80% of them.
