Social media users ask about punishment for inappropriate behaviour of Chechens on vacation

Information about the raids of Chechen law enforcers on the resorts of Northern Caucasus frightened residents of Chechnya, and part of the vacationers decided to return home. This was reported by an author of a comment on the “Caucasian Knot”. Several social media users suggested that young people who did not follow the rules of conduct prescribed in Chechnya on vacation could be expected to be sent to Ukraine.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 11, Ramzan Kadyrov instructed officials and the police to stop cases of inappropriate behaviour of “individual representatives of the Chechen people outside the region.” Residents of Chechnya, who come to Dagestan on vacation, complain that Chechen law enforcers are conducting raids in Dagestan and taking away young men and women who are considered violators of the Vainakh rules of decency.

Some of the Chechens who came on vacation in Dagestan had to return to their home republic, fearing to attract the attention of the law enforcers, reports user hulda, an author of a comment on the “Caucasian Knot”.

"Here, some people really started to panic in connection with those raids by Kadyrov’s people on the beaches of Dagestan. Yesterday, my neighbour phoned her two sons, who, together with their friends, went to the Caspian Sea for a couple of days to relax. She demanded that they should return immediately, since ‘you never know what could happen.’ Those people who return from Dagestan confirm that law enforcers from Chechnya are conducting raids there. There are raids on hotels, discos, cafes, and beaches. The people, who are drunk or behave too vulgarly and defiantly, are taken away without any conversations or explanations,” the user wrote in the comment.

The information about the raids of the Chechen law enforcers was also posted in the “My Derbent” public account in the “VKontakte” social media outlet. In their comments, some users suggested that as a result of the raids by the Chechen law enforcers, those who behaved inappropriately on vacation would be sent to participate in the special military operation in Ukraine.
