Sochi pensioner Gudimov fined for discrediting army
Konstantin Gudimov was fined by 30,000 roubles for jogging with a white-blue-white flag. According to law enforcers, his actions are discrediting the Russian Army. Gudimov disagrees with the imposed fine and intends to challenge it.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, Konstantin Gudimov, a Sochi pensioner, was accused of discrediting Russian militaries.
On September 11, he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he had been fined by 30,000 roubles. According to Mr Gudimov, the trial was held without his participation on September 9.
He said that he has a small pension; and the amount of the fine is quite large for him. According to his story, earlier in June, a protocol was drawn up against him for running with a white and blue flag along Sochi streets. He is sure that hasn't violated any laws.
The protocol on an administrative offense, which Gudimov showed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, states that he "committed active public actions in the form of a run with a flag in his hands that is a modified flag of the Russian Federation with three different-sized horizontal stripes, in which the red stripe was replaced with a white one.
Thus, according to law enforcers, Gudimov "had discredited the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."
