Reservists from Astrakhan Region sent to Chechnya for training

A group of reservists mobilized in the Astrakhan Region has been sent to Chechnya for training, Igor Babushkin, the Governor, has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization. On the same day, Igor Babushkin, the Governor of the Astrakhan Region, announced the start of the work of the mobilization commission.

The Governor then added that the Astrakhan fighters, called up within the partial mobilization, would undergo their training in Chechnya and the Volgograd Region. One of the groups was "deployed in a military unit in the Shatoi District of Chechnya," Igor Babushkin wrote, adding that "everyone has received uniforms and is restoring his combat skills."

After the start of mobilization, in the Astrakhan Region, hundreds of cars of those who decided to leave Russia for Kazakhstan accumulated near the village of Karaozek. Astrakhan residents said that people spend several days in line at the Karaozek checkpoint on the border of the Astrakhan Region and Kazakhstan; and there are no grocery stores, first-aid posts and toilets throughout the traffic jam.
