Ingush Deputy Prime Minister apologizes for threats to his subordinates due to failure of mobilization

Magomed Evloev apologized for the threats to the heads of the municipalities due to the failure of the mobilization plan. The apology was preceded by a public outcry caused by the Magomed Evloev’s statement, including the dissatisfaction of members of the Ingush Council of Teips, the Human Rights Protection Centre “Memorial” reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 21, a conscription commission was set up in the government of Ingushetia to mobilize citizens of the republic, headed by Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the leader of the region.

On September 30, a protest action of Muslims dissatisfied with the course of the mobilization took place in Moscow. One of the protestors, Salam, a seller from Ingushetia, noted that draft notices were “handed out to everyone.”

In Ingushetia, a public outcry was caused by an audio recording, in which Magomed Evloev, the deputy chair of the republic’s government, was scolding his subordinates for the failure of the mobilization plan. According to Magomed Evloev, only 12 people were mobilized in the region, the Human Rights Protection Centre “Memorial” reported.

“The Deputy Prime Minister threatens in Ingush the heads of districts and cities and reproaches the militaries,” the Human Rights Protection Centre “Memorial” noted in its Telegram channel.

The deputy chair of the republic’s government also criticized the imam of Ingushetia, who said that it was forbidden by Islam to participate in the hostilities in Ukraine.

After the audio recording had been posted on the Internet, residents of Ingushetia began to massively criticize Magomed Evloev, and the Ingush Council of Teips called the audio recording “unworthy.”

After that, Magomed Evloev apologized for his statements, recognizing the authenticity of the audio recording. According to the deputy chair of the republic’s government, the main message of his speech was the fear that “we might be considered opponents of the state will and that would harm the republic.”
