Inmate left without medical care in Stavropol colony

The administration of the colony located in the Stavropol Territory would not appoint a medical examination to Zevri Abseitov, convicted for taking part in the "Hizb ut-Tahrir"*, despite the his suffering from hypertension, as well as pain in kidneys and joints, his wife, Fatma Abseitova, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May 2016, Zevri Abseitov, a doctor from the city of Bakhchisarai, was arrested along with three other Muslims from the same city; and on December 24, 2018, they were convicted in Rostov-on-Don under the case of involvement in the "Hizb ut-Tahrir"* and preparing to seize power. On October 1, 2019, Abseitov's advocate complained about the violation of his client's rights.

Fatma Abseitova has complained that her husband receives no medical care in the above colony. "He suffers from pains in kidneys and joints; he needs dental treatment; and he has hypertension," the "OVD-Info" project quotes Ms Abseitova as saying.

Let us remind you that Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov and Rustem Abiltarov were sentenced to 9 years in colony each, and Enver Mamutov – to 17 years of imprisonment. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"*** recognized all the four as political prisoners.
