Prosecutor’s Office takes under special control Leyla Gireeva’s complaint about domestic violence

The police of Ingushetia are checking the complaint about domestic violence filed by Leyla Gireeva, and the check is under special control in the Prosecutor’s Office, the “SK SOS Crisis Group” reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that 18-year-old Leyla Gireeva filed to the police the complaint about regular violence from her parents. Leyla Gireeva asked to be protected from her relatives, who, according to her, could cripple or kill her.

Leyla Gireeva was subjected to domestic violence and “expulsion of genies,” which prompted her to run away from home on November 14, says Svetlana Anokhina, a Dagestani journalist and human rights defender from the “Marem” organization.

A criminal case on the theft of gold jewellery was instituted against Leyla Gireeva at the complaint of her mother, who is seeking the return of her daughter. The defence has pointed out that the complaint was not supported by any facts and demanded to cancel the order to institute the criminal proceedings.

Earlier, the mother of Leyla Gireeva said that her daughter was lying about the order in their family, and suggested that her daughter “was engaged by an organization sponsored by America.”
