Court denies alternative service for Kuban resident instead of mobilization
The Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar has dismissed the claim lodged by Roman Volik, a resident of Kuban (the Krasnodar Territory), who tried to obtain alternative military service instead of mobilization, referring to his anti-war convictions.
Volik has the rank of a sergeant. On September 29, 2022, he received a summons, while the military commissariat (registration and enlistment office) conducted no medical examination, nor they examined the grounds for conscription deferment.
The claimant tried to defend his right to alternative civilian service instead of mobilization, referring to his convictions. The commissariat ignored this demand, answering that he "has no right to lodge such an application."
In its turn, in its refusal to the claimant, the court referred to the fact that there is no deferment due to anti-war convictions in the mobilization law, the "Kavkaz.Realii" project reports.
