Volgograd residents complain about authorities’ indifference to violation of people’s housing rights

Residents of a house in Volgograd complained to Alexander Bastrykin, the chair of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), that officials did not relocate them from a failing building, the state of which threatens the people’s safety. Alexander Bastrykin instructed his subordinates to report to him the results of the investigation into the case.

The “Bloknot Volgograd” YouTube channel posted a video, in which residents of Volgograd complained that officials did not respond to the violation of their housing rights.

According to one of the female residents of the failing house, there is no sewerage and central heating in it, and the residents heat their apartments with electricity.

Another female resident of the failing house complained that the roof of the house was leaking.

“It is impossible to live in this house,” emphasized another resident of the failing house.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that in November 2022, Liliya Baklanova, a resident of Volgograd, an orphan, complained that officials had provided her with an apartment in a state of disrepair almost ten years ago in a village near Volgograd. During all those years, Liliya Baklanova has been trying to renovate her apartment in a failing building, which is dangerous to live in.
