Azerbaijan: ex-Minister of Economic Development rejects his advocates
At today's judicial session on the case of Farkhad Aliev, ex-Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, his brother Rafik Aliev and 17 other persons, the main defendant has stated that he rejects the defence. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Farkhad Aliev has motivated his decision by the argument that the court would not let any due execution of defence. He accused the court of ignoring all the petitions lodged by his advocates.
In his turn, advocate Isakhan Ashurov has explained this Farkhad Aliev's decision by "hopelessness," as the court would not establish any proper conditions for the work of the defence.
