Convicted native of Dagestan has his sentence toughened in case of terror acts
The Astrakhan Regional Court has transferred Temirbulat Zubairov, a native of Dagestan, who is serving his 22-year term, to the prison regime because of the "prisoner's tendency to run away."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) had announced the detention of Temirbulat Zubairov in September 2005. Law enforcers treated his involvement in six terror and sabotage acts, including an explosion in Makhachkala, as proved. Then one military serviceman and three civilians perished; 10 other people were wounded.
According to the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project, Zubairov's regime was tightened up by the head of the colony, who demanded that the prisoner be transferred to prison for three years. Since September 2022, Zubairov has been registered as "prone to escape", and since October - as "the leader of groupings of negative orientation."
The prisoner has appealed the decision, stating that he did not make any attempts to escape and could not be a member of groupings, since he was kept in a solitary cell. The above regional court rejected the arguments of the complaint and transferred him to the strictest custody regime.
