Insider* doubts the Chechen origin of "Akhmat-1" satellite

The intellectual work of assembling the "Akhmat-1" satellite, the launch of which Ramzan Kadyrov has reported, was not carried out in Chechnya, while the parts thereof were bought in China, Vitaly Egorov, an astronautics promoter, has pointed out in a conversation with the Insider*.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kadyrov had proudly reported on the launch of the first Chechen satellite, "Akhmat-1", on June 27. The device is expected to collect information about the location of aircrafts.

The satellite can be treated as a Chechen one only nominally, since it was developed and launched not in Chechnya, and was also not paid for by the republic, Vitaly Egorov, the author of the Zelenyikot blog and a promoter of astronautics, is confident.

"The platform for this spacecraft was developed at the Kursk University," the Insider* has quoted him as saying.

According to Mr Egorov, the components for the construction of the satellite were obtained "most likely from AliExpress," and the "serious intellectual work" to assemble the satellite was not carried out in Chechnya. He is also sure that none of the "Akhmat-1" components was produced in Chechnya.
