Sochi court refuses to dismiss a single father from Russian Army

The Sochi Garrison Military Court has refused the contract soldier, Denis Neprokin, who is alone raising a child, to be dismissed from the Russian Army. The Court referred to the Russian presidential decree on mobilization.

Denis Neprokin decided to quit his military service in order to go to his child in Novorossiysk. In his lawsuit, he indicated that when he had signed the contract, he moved his son to his service apartment located at the military unit, because his ex-wife failed to cope with the upbringing, and Denis’ parents live far in the Primorsky Territory. Due to problems with teaching at the school at the location of the military unit, Neprokin was forced to transfer his 15-year-old son to Novorossiysk, but now he cannot be engaged in upbringing him, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* project has reported.

The contract soldier submitted a report on resignation to his commander, but the latter rejected his request. Neprokin appealed against the commander’s refusal in court. However, the above court has treated the refusal as legal and referred to the fact that such reasons for dismissal from service are not specified in the current decree on mobilization.
