Resident of Saint Petersburg fined for picketing in support of Zarema Musaeva

In Saint Petersburg, law enforcers have detained and then fined Dmitry Kuzmin, a local resident, for violating the anti-COVID restrictions, when he went out to the city administration building with a picket in support of Zarema Musaeva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, 2022, law enforcers took Zarema Musaeva by force from her apartment in Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya, where a criminal case was opened against her for assaulting a policeman. On July 4, 2023, the Akhmat District Court of Grozny sentenced Musaeva to 5.5 years in prison. She hopes for the Supreme Court of Russia, from which she expects a positive decision on her complaint against the court verdict.

Dmitry Kuzmin, a resident of Saint Petersburg, went to a solo picket near the building of the Petersburg City Duma located in Nevsky Prospekt with a poster "Freedom to Zarema Musaeva". He was detained; and law enforcers drew up a protocol against him, the "OVD Info"* project reports.

Let us remind you that on July 4, 2023, when the court in Grozny was to pass sentence on Musaeva, Elena Milashina, a "Novaya Gazeta" journalist, and Alexander Nemov, one of Musaeva's advocates, were attacked in Chechnya. They were beaten by armed men in masks.
