Case on beating of teenager with disabilities in Rostov-on-Don closed

The criminal case on beating of a teenager with disabilities in a shopping centre in Rostov-on-Don has been closed in connection with the defendant’s death.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 1, investigators announced the transfer to court of the case against a 44-year-old man accused of beating a 14-year-old teenager with disabilities. The man fully admitted his guilt. Initially, there were two suspects, but investigators “pinned all the guilt on one man because they could not collect evidence against the second attacker,” a mother of the teenager with disabilities suggested.

The “161.ru” portal reports the victim’s mother explained that in August, the body of Andrei Ivanov, a suspect, who was homeless, was found on the street. The woman emphasized that at the last court hearing in the case, the defendant said that he did not feel guilty, as “it had been just a stupid joke.”

The court also refused to consider the claim of the victim’s representative against Andrei Ivanov for compensation for moral and material damages.

Let us remind you that, according to the investigators’ version, two local residents, 44 and 37 years old, used physical force against the 14-year-old teenager with disabilities out of hooligan motives, as a result of which the teenager fell, hit the floor, and got injuries.

The victim’s mother said that doctors diagnosed the teenager with brain concussion, and his psychological state also worsened after the beating.
