In Krasnodar and Volgograd, supporters of presidential candidate Nadezhdin face law enforcers' opposition

In Krasnodar, a signature collector for the presidential candidate, Boris Nadezhdin, has spent several hours in police custody. In Volgograd, a café director called the police when several activists came to his café to have lunch.

On January 22, Vladimir Putin's election office submitted signatures in his support to the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC). Boris Nadezhdin is running for the presidency from the "Civil Initiative" Party. The presidential election will take place on March 15-17, 2024.

On January 24, in Krasnodar, policemen detained Dmitry Novozhilov, a signature collector for Boris Nadezhdin, the "OVD-Info"* project has reported.

A day earlier, Nadezhdin's supporters were also detained in Volgograd. The director of the café, where signature collectors had gathered, called the police, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
