Activist of the People's Front of Azerbaijan discharged from mental hospital
Alesker Ismailov, 70, an activist of the Nakhichevan Branches of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) was discharged today from Psychiatric Hospital No. 1. Mr Ismailov himself told the APA Agency about it.
He said that he was examined by a commission of doctors who, having revealed no mental problems in him, discharged him from hospital. According to Ismailov, he was placed into hospital after he had written an application to the head of the state, Baku OSCE Office, Milli Medzhlis (Parliament) and to the General Public Prosecutor about the emergency condition of the walls of his house.
The elderly person asserts that the Nakhichevan police demanded from him to take his application back but he refused to do it. "First, they put me in prison, and then to hospital," Mr Ismailov said.
The Day.Az Agency has added that Ismailov emphasized that no pressure was applied to him at the hospital, and he admitted that he was afraid to come back to Nakhichevan: "I'll consult the press and human rights activists." "I also think about going to court," the victim has concluded.
