Attacker on militiamen imprisoned for 19 years in Chechnya
On September 10, the Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic passed a verdict to Rizvan Gutsiev, a resident of the Sunzha District, who was detained in 2006 on charges of taking part in armed formations and an attack on employees of law enforcement bodies.
"Rizvan Gutsiev, 41, a native of Sernovodsk village, Sunzha District of Chechnya, took part in October 2003 within a sustainable criminal grouping under command of certain Islamov in an attack on ROVD (district militia unit) of the Sunzha District. In spite of the fact that Gutsiev tried to escape responsibility, asserting that he personally did not shoot at militiamen, his guilt has been proved," a source from the law enforcement bodies of the Republic told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
By aggregation of committed crimes, Rizvan Gutsiev was sentenced to 19 years of imprisonment with serving his term in a strict custody colony.
On October 25, 2003, in the Sunzha District of Chechnya Gutsiev, acting together with several militants, shelled from small arms a "Zhiguli" passenger car with two militiamen and two other men inside. According to the investigation, Rizvan Gutsiev made several shots from Makarov pistol at the car driver - Adlan Muzaev, an employee of the ROVD of the Sunzha District, inflicting several gunshot wounds to him.
