Sochi resident convicted of preparing for treason
The Southern District Military Court has found a Sochi resident guilty of preparing to defect to Ukraine and sentenced him to six years in penal colony.
The court has found the man guilty of attempted treason, the "Interfax" reports citing the press service of the Russian FSB branch for the Krasnodar Territory.
"In October 2023, the above Sochi resident set up a contact with Ukrainian security services and within a week planned to switch to the enemy's side. When attempting to leave the Russian Federation, the man was detained," the message has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 1, it became known that the court had sentenced a resident of Temryuk to six years in colony, finding him guilty of attempting to travel to Ukraine and join a terrorist organization there.
