Relatives of deceased Ingush woman in labour complain about officials' indifference
Relatives of Madina Ausheva, who died after giving birth to a child, are not informed about the inquiry progress; and authorities of Ingushetia have failed their promise to punish the perpetrators, Madina's relatives have complained.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 29, 2021, Madina Ausheva gave birth to her sixth child, after which she felt much worse and fell into coma.
On January 20, 2022, investigators from Ingushetia opened a criminal case under the article on negligence resulting in causing grave bodily harm. According to their version, the patient's surgery was conducted with violations.
Madina Ausheva died on July 15, never coming out of coma, her sister Patimat Bekova has stated. According to her story, during the days of the funeral, residents of Ingushetia "in a continuous stream" came to the Aushevs' house to express their condolences.
"After giving birth, Madina started bleeding ... The head doctor on duty, Lyudmila Khalukhaeva, instead of coming and taking measures to stop the bleeding herself, advised giving the woman a pill. The pill did not help," said Patimat Bekova.
According to her story, doctors decided to remove her sister's uterus, after which she lost almost three litres of blood.
Patimat has filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office demanding to conduct an inquiry and punish the perpetrators, but officials from Ministry of Public Health refused to deal with the situation.
"Two years have passed, and so far no real information about how the inquiry into this criminal case is being conducted has been reported to us, Madina Ausheva's relatives. Also, the promise by Magomed Evloev, an Ingush Vice-Premier, that work will be carried out to bring to justice all those guilty of the negligent treatment, is still in the air" said Patimat Bekova.
According to the experts' conclusion, Madina Ausheva was given "the wrong drugs" and appointed "unnecessary procedures," and doctors also committed other violations.
