Mother demands inquiry into Djabrailov's death at police station
A month after the death of Akhmed Djabrailov at one of Makhachkala police stations, there is no criminal case or detainees, despite the video records of torture, his mother was outraged in her appeal to President Putin. She called on the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) to take control over the case.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, 2024, Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC), posted a video from surveillance cameras located in the Sovietsky district police station in Makhachkala and stated that law enforcers were "wittingly or unwittingly" involved in Djabrailov's death. Those involved are trying to avoid responsibility; and Akhmed's relatives are being pressured, the casualty's parents have stated in their appeal to Vladimir Putin.
Akhmed Djabrailov, who was detained for disturbing public order, died on July 9 at the police station. Khadizhat Gasanova, his mother, stated that policemen didn't use physical force against her son, and that he himself behaved inappropriately.
Now, the mother of Akhmed Djabrailov, who was a fighter at the special military operation (SMO), has once again appealed to Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the General Prosecutor's Office )GPO) and the FSB, asking them to take the case under their personal control, the "Novoye Delo" (New Cause) outlet has reported.
"On July 9, 2024, as a result of violent actions, electric shocks, blows to the face and other body parts, as well as strangulation, Djabrailov died at the Sovietsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala from asphyxia. He couldn't resist, since he was in a helpless state," the outlet quotes the mother's appeal.
She has noted that the videos showing what was happening "are not sufficient grounds for the investigator to initiate a criminal case and immediately detain the criminals."
She pointed to the analogy with the death case of Kurban Dalgatov, suspects in whose death were immediately detained, while in connection with the death of her son, despite the presence of video records, no one has been detained.
