Dagestani blogger Askhabali Alibekov put on preventive registration at SIZO

Askhabali Alibekov, a native of Dagestan, accused of using violence against a law enforcer, has been put on preventive registration by the administration of a SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Kazan as a person disseminating extremist ideology. The above information has been reported by the “RusNews” Telegram channel.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 29, a spouse of Askhabali Alibekov, an author of the “Dikiy Desantnik” (Wild Paratrooper) YouTube channel, complained that he practically does not receive her letters. According to the woman’s report, her husband asked court to consider his case in a special procedure, but public prosecutors rejected the request.

Let us remind you that, according to the investigators’ version, during his detention, Askhabali Alibekov struck one of the policemen twice in his leg. On March 4, a court in Kazan arrested Askhabali Alibekov for two months. On June 26, Askhabali Alibekov complained that he was deprived of phone conversations with his relatives and that his letters were not being delivered.

In March 2023, Askhabali Alibekov was sentenced to one year and two months of imprisonment. The court found that the video posted on his YouTube channel discredited the Russian Army. In November of the same year, Askhabali Alibekov was released.
