Makhachkala resident accuses law enforcers of fabricating drug case

Abdula Karimov, a resident of Makhachkala, has complained that law enforcers had allegedly planted narcotic drugs on him and fabricated a criminal case. Despite this, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to eight years in jail.

According to the police, in October 2023, Karimov sold two grams of hashish to an acquaintance. He later said that law enforcers had planted drugs packages on him and forced him to touch them so that fingerprints would remain on them. His defence pointed out that one of the witnesses had been earlier convicted of slander; and the witness who told the investigator that he had bought drugs from Karimov later refused from his testimony at the trial.

Karimov has accused law enforcers of falsifying the proofs and abuse of power, but his request to open a criminal case was denied.
