"Izvestia": Kaloev becomes deputy minister in North Ossetia

Vitaly Kaloev, who was released in November 2007 from a Swiss prison, will be employed from Monday, January 21, at the civil service. Being a professional builder, he has accepted a proposal to take the post of Deputy Minister of Construction and Architecture of North Ossetia. This information was published by the "Izvestia".

Meanwhile, as the ANN reports, Mr Kaloev was recognized the "person of the year" in North Ossetia. He became the winner of the traditional polling held by the North Ossetian portal "The 15th Region", in which over 1100 persons took place. 36 percent of the respondents had preferred Kaloev.

"Ossetia has plenty of people who really deserve this title. I can't regard myself to be the person of the year in any way. Nevertheless, I'm very grateful to those people who sympathized with me and supported me. Please, give my words of gratitude also to those who voted for me. It's a form of support to me as well," Vitaly Kaloev said during awarding him with the Prize "The Person of the year" - a bronze figurine of a hero of the Nart epos.
